Oaks

Living Oak Massage Studio is nestled amid the Live Oaks of James Island, South Carolina. In this airy and spacious studio, you will feel as if you are among the tree limbs.  The studio has many features that enhance the feeling of tranquil serenity which adds to the effect of massage. Once you experience the healing, delightful experience of your treatment at Living Oak Massage Studio – you will look forward to your next  visit.

In Studio Services

These enhancements to my practice are limited to the studio due to the materials, tools and electricity involved in providing them. If your trip from home to the studio seems further than you wish, all of the items below make the drive well worthwhile!

Moist heated towels

Moist, hot, steamy towels allow heat to penetrate into the muscles. Some people feel that moist heat provides better pain relief than heat alone. I use them on the back, feet, neck, to warm and soothe tired muscles. They are sure make you go “ahhh”!        back to list

Paraffin Wax Treatments

The benefits of paraffin treatments include hydrating dry hands and feet, allowing the deep-penetrating heat to soothe achy muscles and joints. In addition, paraffin can even aid conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, tendonitis, and muscle spasms.        back to list

Hand and Feet Treatments (30 minutes)

Sit back and relax while your overworked hands and/or feet get recharged. This treatment will warm, exfoliate, scrub, and massage them. This renewal is sealed in with a delightful paraffin dip. Add this service onto your treatment, or enjoy it on it’s own!        back to list

Head and Scalp Treatment (30 minutes)

Put your head in the clouds at the beginning or end of a treatment. Lie back and let your worries roll away as I massage coconut oil in to your hair and scalp. It is wonderful to use as a hair conditioner. Beauticians who are familiar with coconut swear by it. It softens the hair and conditions the scalp. You will be amazed at the look and feel of your hair after it’s next washing. Please note: you will want to allow for time after this treatment to wash your hair.         back to list

Hot Stone Massage (90 minutes)

Hot stone massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated stones. They are often basalt, a black volcanic rock, which absorbs and retains heat well. It is a deeply soothing, relaxing form of massage. I incorporate hot stones into my studio services whenever possible. However this service can be booked alone. A full hot Stone Massage service is sure to melt away stress and tension. back to list
